 Rebuilding Together Pittsburgh - 2016

Saturday, April 30, was a big day in the Pittsburgh area as over 500 volunteers gathered to assist 22 low-income homeowners with repairs to their homes.

This year, Mascaro sponsored a home in McKees Rocks, owned by Diane Johnston.

Josh Pisarcik, Mascaro’s house captain and Tom Salopek, co-captain for the Rebuilding Together Pittsburgh (RTP) 2016, and their crew of carpenters and laborers began work at the beginning of April making critical home repairs and renovations, as well as installation of home safety devices. On April 30, an additional 12 Mascaro volunteers stepped in to finish the work, which included:

 
  • Replacing the exterior basement door to garage
  • Insulating and patching the garage ceiling
  • Installing handrail on exterior front steps
  • Replacing storm doors on both the front and back entrances
  • Installing a new lock set on back door
  • Patching and painting one wall in the living room
  • Scraping and painting the foundation of the house
  • Patching and painting the attic
  • Securing the handrail to the attic
  • Installing a handrail the entire length of the basement steps
  • Drylocking the basement
  • Replacing the furnace filter
  • Replacing smoke and CO2 detectors and fire extinguisher
  • Replacing the back portion of the backyard fence
