Part of the Mascaro Advantage's family atmosphere is the importance of giving back to the community. Not only is it the right thing to do, but it is also one of our long-term strategic goals. We focus on partnering with charitable organizations based on our employees’ personal connection and the local community in which we live.

Season of Giving
As a part of the Mascaro Advantage, there is a company-wide belief in the importance of giving back to the communities in which we live and work.  With many in our area in need this time of the year, Mascaro participated in five community initiatives for our “Season of Giving”.

For the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, we collected non-perishable food items and monetary donations to help provide essential food and personal hygiene items to those in need in the southwestern Pennsylvania area.  In the month of November, Mascaro donated 288 lbs. of food and other items and $1,328 in a monetary donation.

To help provide toys for less fortunate children at Christmas, we participated in two different toy drives.  The first is Toys for Tots.  We set up collection boxes for new, unwrapped toys and delivered over 130 toys to be distributed for the holidays.  Mascaro also participated in The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree.  The Angel Tree held 25 tags with wish list items for specific children.  All tags were claimed, and the items were purchased to make those children’s holiday bright.

While the November signifies the start of the holiday season, it is also a sign of colder weather to come.  To help keep those warm, Mascaro participated in two clothing drives — one for children and one for veterans.  For children, we collected over 150 children’s cold weather coats, hats, scarves, and mittens to be distributed through New Hope Church in the Marshall-Shadeland neighborhood.  For our area veterans, we participated in “Sweats for Vets” collecting new sweatshirts.  Officer Joe with the Allegheny County Communities and Police Together collected over 4 large boxes stuffed with sweatshirts to be distributed at the South West Veteran’s Center.
