What Mascaro is Doing

What Mascaro is Doing

Holy Family Institute

Since its inception in 1988, Mascaro has been involved in supporting this organization that helps, heals, and supports children and families in Pennsylvania. Holy Family has served the community for over 100 years by providing alternative learning environments and career training, support and counseling to families in need, and help with addiction, alcoholism and other debilitating problems. More information is provided at www.hfi-pgh.org.

National Aviary

Another organization that Mascaro has continually supported is the National Aviary. Located in our backyard, it is the largest indoor aviary and the only naturally designed aviary in the United States. It is home to over 200 species and through its collection and programs, the Aviary creates extraordinary learning experiences for children and families, students, teachers, bird lovers, eco-tourists, community organizations and seniors. Further information can be found at www.aviary.org.

Cystic Fibrosis Foundation

When this disease affected one of the children of a Mascaro employee, Mascaro rallied its support to help find a cure for this devastating illness. The firm sponsors an annual walk in which many employees participate, and has held a fund raising event in November, Get Together with a Cause, with great success. To support this worthwhile charity, visit www.cff.org.

Casey’s Clubhouse

Casey’s Clubhouse is carrying on the mission statement of all Miracle League fields: “Every Child Deserves A Chance to Play Baseball.” The organization brings the game of baseball to children who may have never had the opportunity to play on a real field. By building a custom-designed field with a cushioned rubberized surface to help prevent injuries, wheelchair accessible dugouts, and a completely flat surface to eliminate any barriers to wheel-chair bound or visually impaired players, Casey’s Clubhouse has eliminated the challenges that prevent many children from playing the game of baseball. For more information, visit www.caseysclubhouse.org.

Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh

Located near Mascaro’s corporate headquarters on the North Side of Pittsburgh, Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh provides children of all ages hands-on exhibits that entertain and educate. Further information on exhibits, workshops, outreach programs, and all the other great activities and programs visit www.pittsburghkids.org.

New Hope for Neighborhood Renewal

Since 1999, New Hope for Neighborhood Renewal has impacted the North Side of Pittsburgh through student education programs and community development. Events sponsored by Mascaro include the New Hope Christmas Store and the “A Sweet Night on the North Side” fundraising event. For more information, check out their website at www.newhopeneighbor.org.

Rebuilding Together Pittsburgh

This organization assists low income homeowners, particularly the elderly, by providing critical home maintenance and repairs, which in turn allow neighborhoods to grow stronger and stay safer. Mascaro has been a long-time house sponsor and invites you to find out how you can get involved by visiting the organization’s website: www.rebuildingtogether-pgh.org.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure

Mascaro and its employees are proud to join the fight against breast cancer. Each year we hold a “Passionately Pink for the Cure” fundraising event where the company provides additional donations for every pink item worn. Further information on the local Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation is located at: www.komenpittsburgh.org.

Muscular Dystrophy Association

MDA is the nonprofit health agency dedicated to curing muscular dystrophy, ALS and related diseases by funding worldwide research. Mascaro is a proud sponsor of the Muscle Team event. Visit www.pittsburghmuscleteam.org to find out how you can participate in this fun and interactive event.
