The fast-tracked schedule was one of the biggest project challenges. The project started one day after the Pirates home opener and during construction the overall schedule was shortened so that the project could be completed in time for Pittsburgh’s bicentennial celebration. The owner wanted the actual placement and erection of the sculpture delayed as much as possible to limit the public’s view until the official grand opening. The project schedule had to work around the Pirates season, Stage AE events, and Heinz Field events affecting deliveries and construction activities.
