Project Details

The project is a collaboration between the University and the city of Pittsburgh to transform Bigelow Boulevard between Fifth and Forbes Avenue and improve the outdoor space around William Pitt Union, facing Bigelow Blvd. Chilled water supply, water lines, and electrical power distribution were upgraded and replaced to accommodate future campus construction. Work included improvements to enhance the pedestrian crosswalk, bike path, and improve traffic flow. Upgrades were made to the William Pitt Union grounds to expand the programmable outdoor space.
