Position Summary:

Mascaro is seeking an experienced Superintendent passionate for construction with a strong knowledge and background across all trades in the Western Pennsylvania region (or within a 6-hour radius at one of our exciting projects). In this role, you will be responsible to manage and control assigned projects, including overseeing field operations, site safety, productivity, schedule, quality work, and trade contractor and supplier coordination. This individual will work in conjunction with the project team and build relationships with owners, clients, subcontractors, tradesmen and coworkers. Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Project & people management, to include clear and consistent communication
  • Assist in development of a pre-bid schedule and contribute to execution plan development
  • Assist with the development and enforcement of the Site Specific Safety Plan and Site Specific Quality Plan
  • Monitor construction activities, including subcontractor performance, for adherence to policy and procedure
  • Host pre-installation conferences for subcontractors and self-performed scope
  • Proactively identify potential "problem areas" early in the process and develop strategies to overcome obstacles
  • Review all design revisions with project team for added cost and schedule impact
  • Preplan and actively assess schedule activities including manpower, material requirements and equipment
  • Communicate milestones and critical path to the project team and field and confirm downstream communication
  • Ensure punch list is performed in a timely manner and all close-out procedures are completed

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Minimum of five years of construction experience or equivalent role
  • Ability to travel and/or temporarily relocate based on project needs
  • Proficient in computers and/or tablets, experience with construction software and Microsoft Office preferred
  • Proficient in basic construction survey layout including conventional and GPS
  • Proficient in understanding building plans and specifications
  • Strong management and leadership skills, including the aptitude to work as a team player with strong planning, organizational and communication skills. Experience managing laborers self-performing heavy/industrial work preferred.
  • Ability to problem solve and respond effectively to pressure and stress
  • Comfortable to work in both an office and on-site construction project environment
